Blood is the most information-rich and valuable source of health information that is readily available for analysis, yet more than 85% of blood testing is confined to the lab simply due to the need to use a centrifuge to extract plasma. This status quo has persisted as there hasn’t been a technology that can balance performance, cost and usability to enable plasma collection beyond the lab – until the LoBio P1 was developed.

LoBio’s patented bead technology disrupts the paradigm of affinity based capture methods and brings forth a new generation of plasma collection devices. Unlike conventional bead-based approaches that struggle to efficiently capture targets when present in large quantities, LoBio P1 beads benefit from it. With this device, LoBio brings lab blood testing closer to the home by empowering patients to collect their own blood samples and drop them in the mail to the lab. 

LoBio is partnering with some of the nation’s leading labs and at-home testing companies to make blood testing more affordable, accessible, and accurate.

LoBio has been recognized by industry leaders and has been invited to participate in several prestigious healthcare accelerators, such as Techstars Healthcare (Spring 2024), Creative Destruction Lab (Health and Wellness Stream 2023), and Mt.Sinai Elementa Labs (2024). Additionally, LoBio has been awarded federal grant funding from the National Science Foundation (NSF) and Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC).
